Set Text for the Module

Weiss, J.W., (1998), Business Ethics: A Stakeholder and Issues Management Approach, 2 ed. Dryden Press, ISBN: 0-03-024747-0.

Recommended Reading

Boatright, J.R., (1997), Ethics and the Conduct of Business, 2 ed., Prentice Hall,

ISBN: 0-13-551798-2.

Comment: A good text book, can be hard going in places. Good on things like codes of conduct whistle blowing issues, privacy and women's issues in the work place. It also has a clear first section on some of the underpinning to the study of ethics.

Donaldson, J., (1992), Business Ethics: A European Casebook. Academic Press,

ISBN: 0-12-220543-X (pbk).

Comment: An excellent overview on the topic with a number of relevant examples in the form of small case studies to illustrate the points being made.

Hosmer, L.T., (1991), The Ethics of Management, Irwin. ISBN: 0-256-08489-0 (Pbk)

Comment: An excellent book that deals with the technical points of ethics rather clearly. It contains a number of useful mini case studies and experiential exercises. Use in conjunction with the Donaldson book.

Kotler, P., G. Armstrong, J. Saunders and V. Wong, (1999), Principles of Marketing, Prentice-Hall.
